Dr.
Robert J. Lewis, V.M.D. graduated from University of Scranton in
1987 and the University of Pennsylvania in 1991 with his
Veterinarian Degree. When Dr. Lewis first arrived in the small
central Pennsylvania town of Jersey Shore, PA, he worked for a
well very well known, very established Veterinarian in a small
office, as well as the large animal ambulatory service.
He is married to Mary Lewis, who is the Business Administrator
for Lewis Veterinary Clinic, PC. Robert and Mary's interests
are hunting with their son Taylor and caring for his 125 acre
farm. They are very active with the local kids in baseball by
putting in batting cages for the players to use year
round. They also like to help local kids with their 4-H
projects for local and state fairs. Together they have two
beautiful children.
Allyson is now 21
and a Senior at Lycoming College and will be going to Boston
University for Political Law in 2010. Allyson is a member of
the Lycoming College Choir and very active in the Republican
Committee at her College and is the assistant Secretary for the
Repulican Party in Anthony Township under Republican Chair Jeff
Stroehmann.
They
also have a son Taylor, who is in the 8th grade at Jersey Shore
Middle School and plays just about every sport you can think
of. Member of the Shore-U13 Travel Baseball Team, U-13 Junior
Baseball team for Pine Creek. Also a member of the Jersey Shore
Bulldog wrestling, cross country and football programs. He is
also a member of Who's Who in Middle School Students.
Taylor's also enjoys hunting in different States with his Dad.
Not
long after getting married, Dr. Bob and Mary began to think that
he may want to embark on an adventure of opening his own
Veterinarian office. So in 1995, Lewis Veterinary Clinic was
established, taking care of both small domestic animals and
going out on the road to take care all the large.
Not
soon later, the house they they ran there business out of and
lived it just became way too small. When the practice first
started they had one bench in the waiting room for his clients,
seeing about 15 patients per day and only doing a few surgeries
each day. As their business started to grow and expand, he
outgrew the building they were in. So in December of 2004, Dr.
Bob and Mary decided to take a chance and purchase a 7800 square
foot building which originally housed the Horsepower Harley
Davidson sales and shop operation. With a few renovations they
turned that building into a beautiful, state of the art,
Veterinarian office with none like it for miles around. We now
see 50-60 clients a day and are capable of doing up to 25
medical procedures a day.
On May 14th,
2007, it was our incredible honor to hire Dr. Rachel M. Teribury,
D.V.M. to our staff. She comes to us with vast knowledge in not
just small companion animals, but large as well. She is a
graduate student from Cornell University, class of 2003. She
resides in Troy, PA with her husband Earl and her oldest son
Trevon, son Eason, and the new twins, Pryor and Trey. Our state
of the art Clinic strides to bring you with the latest
technology. We are a full service facility for small animals,
excluding exotics and birds; our goal is to make your pets visit
for the Doctor a pleasant one. |
